Kingsthorpe Grove School was established as a school in 1906 and has since that time been central to the local community. schoolwindow w640h480

Our school emblem is an owl (affectionately named Oscar) ; this is depicted in the beautiful stained glass window in the main hall. Although the listed building is over 100 years old, it is a fine example of early 20th Century architecture and we are all proud of it! It was established as a school in 1906 and has since that time been central to the local community.

The majority of pupils come to Kingsthorpe Grove from the area close to the school. We aim to provide each of our pupils with a sound education within a caring and inclusive environment.

In November 2012 we had an Ofsted Inspection which took us out of Special Measures, after only nine months, which is extremely fast for a school. We received 'Good' gradings for our teaching, behaviour and safety. We will continue to work hard to improve our provision even further.

The school has a thriving nursery unit, which opened in 1987; there are 52 part-time places available. The nursery is fully integrated into the school Foundation stage team and follows the National Foundation Stage Curriculum.

The school also has a Designated Special Provision (The Owlets) for Autistic pupils aged between 4 and 11 years. The provision enjoys an excellent reputation within Northamptonshire. Under the Northampton Review the unit will expand to provide 24 places.

Open days for new entrants and information evenings for parents of new entrants are held in the summer term preceding entry. Staff are available to share information about our school and answer questions that parents may have.
